This is a great new resource from Crossway. I already own the Reformation Study Bible (ESV, published by Reformation Trust/Ligonier), which is quite a tome (but packed full of useful resources); my wife has the ESV Study Bible (published by Crossway) - which is also highly regarded. However, both are a bit cumbersome for taking to church or homegroup Bible study. For that very reason (I assume) Crossway has come out with this 'concise' version of its study bible. Obviously, it has less notes than the full ESV Study Bible, but enough to provide a steer on tricky verses. It has also retained a remarkable number of the maps and tables for which the full version is noted (although the maps are grey scale rather than full colour) and has a small selection of articles at the end, as well as a good concordance and a section charting the use of the Old Testament in the New Testament. This is a (red) hardback version, with a navy blue dusk jacket. It is also available in a Truetone finish.

I am very pleased with my purchase as this ESV Bible is my favourite version of the Bible. However, the Study Bible also has the extra information and background that helps to study and understand the Bible further. Thank you.
