If you happen to be looking for an Authorised Version of the Bible then the Trinitarian Bible Society's Westminster Bible is the one for you. The text layout means that the references appear next to text, which for me is a better format to the traditional centre column references because with the Westminster the references appear right next to the text making it easier to locate. The paper quality is superb, with golden gilded edges and the leather cover is also very sturdy. This is a truly delightful bible.

Smyth Sewn binding? Tick. Royal Jongbloed printing and gilding? Tick. Nice calfskin leather cover? Tick. Decent quality bible paper? Tick. Lovely, clear, crisp 9.6 point font that still manages to look ‘dignified’? Tick. “Translator’s To the reader” preface? Tick. You get the picture. A catalogue of virtues you would normally only see belonging to much more expensive Bibles from a certain university In eastern England!

Beautiful Bible. Pages do seem to crease easily but surprisingly they seem to recover under the sum weight of pages when closed for a while. Quality is excellent, and certainly the extras at the back are very welcome. The maps are vivid and simply brilliant. Best Bible, in every sense of the word, that I've owned in almost 40 years. After much research, spanning several years, I have come to an unchangeable, final opinion, that it has to be King James AV only. It is the only translation that you can hang your hat on.

Westminster Reference Bible Firstly let me say that this is an extremely well made bible. The calfskin binding is premium quality, the font is crisp and clear. The light cream bible paper is easy on the eye and has minimal 'bleed through' even if you underline a verse with ballpoint pen. This bible is built to last. The bible has some useful helps, cross references, concordance, maps, weights/measures tables etc but the primary focus is reverence for the text of scripture. The first 3 pages are simple nicely presented quotations of scripture which remind you that you are approaching the very Word of God. The version: It's the Authorised King James Version, yes the one with all the Thee's and Thou's but don't be put off. There is an explanation of the actual reason that they are used and it relates to accuracy of translation, very interesting. The translators essay to the readers is also fascinating and explains some of the translation choices. Finally the more difficult old fashioned words, or words with different modern meanings are marked and the modern meaning given in the margin, this is a great feature. To me the only improvement possible would be to include the 'self pronouncing text' for names and places within the text not at the back but this is a small point.
