I love this daily Bible. My husband, daughter and I have all used it repeatedly over several years now, such that I have had to reglue the spine and cover with sticky-backed-plastic! I'd like an imitation leather copy but they seem to be always out of print. I struggled to use daily reading plans which involved consulting a separate book and then flicking through my bible, so that it usually took me two years to complete the reading plan. This version has enabled me to read through in a year, very rarely "getting behind". Also the presentation of both Old Testament and New Testament readings each day with snippets of Psalms and Proverbs keeps a good balance, and prevented me from being "bogged down" in some of the drier passages. The quotations from Max Lucado's writings, which are more like poetry than prose, are short enough not to distract from the scripture. Max writes with profound insight and often helps me to view biblical truth in a new light, as his point of view is reverent yet quite different from my own.
