This is a good translation; but should not be your main bible as it is loosely based on the original text. Get the NKJV as your main bible.

Bought this because I had the standard edition and have been impressed with Peterson's pastoral insights based on his many years as a pastor and academic. Peterson brings the text to life and invites us to look at our relationship with God, ourselves and each other in new ways. I particularly appreciated his introductions to each book and his descriptions of faith - warts and all - showing a deep understanding of the obstacles to spiritual growth but also offering fatherly advice on how to work with God "according to his good purposes". Especially good for those young in the faith or those older wanting new light on God's truth wanting to draw on the experience and wisdom of a pastor who will be much missed but whose voice continues to speak and bless beyond the grave. Bought a copy for two friends who also loved it. Can't recommend it highly enough.

I am really pleased with this Bible makes a refreshing change and the study notes are good. Nice feel and look to the whole Bible.

This Bible is really interesting to read, in today's language and extremely useful for giving me fresh insight into the word.

Really appreciate this translation and the notes that go with it are thought provoking & challenging. Brilliant for young Christians to help understand the Bible more but also easy reading for all ages!!!
