Just what a needed

I've always said I couldn't get on with "The Message", but recently decided to give it another try, and bought this neat little paperback. And now I'm hooked. If you need a pocket-sized copy this is perfect, but I do miss having the verse numbering, so will be investing in one with those added. Meanwhile, I'm just feeling a bit sheepish that I resisted this version of Scripture for so long. The Proverbs are especially readable, and some of the well-known passages from the Gospels and Epistles take on a new life here. My only negative comment would be that the Psalms just don't quite work for me in this contemporary language. But they might for you!

Although the print is quite small (as expected) it is very clear with bold black print on a crisp white background. As an older person I can read this. I love that it also includes psalms and proverbs Very pleased.

Purchased this as a gift for someone who's searching. This book is tiny; however, the typeface is crystal clear. The recipient is delighted and, because the book's so small, they take it everywhere with them. The Message is a very accessible way into scripture for non-church people.
