Ah, a new school year. Fresh exercise books ready to be covered in wrapping paper, shiny school shoes and crisp new uniforms. Coupled with that, the days suddenly feel colder and shorter, and a certain coffee chain has started adding pumpkin spice to everything.

For children’s workers and church leaders, that means a certain event is just around the corner. All Hallows Eve or more commonly, Halloween.

For many Churches, this is a chance to seek the light at a time when many are celebrating darkness and trickery. Instead, Churches host light parties - a Christian alternative to Halloween, a great opportunity to reach out to your local community with the Good News.
