One tweeter has set himself the task of sumarising each chapter of the Bible in 140 characters.
@Biblesummary has been tweeting once a day since 8 August 2010 and is currently halfway through the book of Psalms.
Over 20,000 people are "following" the updates, which have been written by Durham based web developer Chris Juby, 31.
When asked what made him start the project, Mr Juby replied "I hoped that writing a summary would help me to focus on what I was reading, which it certainly has. Now I have 21,000 people keeping me accountable!"
When asked if his tweets could be viewed as dumming down the Bible, Mr Juby responded: "I’m always keen to emphasise that my summaries are no substitute for reading the Bible itself. One of my main hopes for the project is that it connects people with Scripture who wouldn’t otherwise open a Bible."
If Mr Juby continues to summarise one chapter per day, the entire bible will have been summarised on 8 November 2013.
