Here is a phenomenal amount of information presented in a fascinating way to excite a child or an adult.

Before buying, I noted other reviews of a creationist persuasion who were unhappy with the scientific views in this book. I agree that clarity about this is needed on the website. However, coming from a view that understands Genesis as describing the order and creativity of God, and not a science book, I knew that Book of Wonders was exactly what I was looking for, for my 9 year old grandson. I bought the Activity Book alongside. He was absolutely delighted with both. It is set out in the modern way with great illustrations and facts all woven together (educational children's magazines-style). The pages are colourful and engaging - this makes learning a delight. Many high profile scientists eg Sir Ghillian Prance are quoted. Throughout the book the reader is asked to think about God and his creation and what that tells us about his character. I'm sad that so often science and religion are polarized. I feel this book does much to combine the answers to How? and Why?

The evolutionary view used in this book should be at least mentioned in the write up. It is a very big book with engaging pictures and lots of interesting information. It would have been very helpful to know that it talks of the earth being millions of years old, since many Christians do not hold to this view. I had bought to give as a birthday gift to a child from the church but now can’t give it as this important information wasn’t given. I hope this review helps you when deciding on purchasing this book.

Brilliantly presented, great for 8 year old granddaughter but also fascinating for parents and Grandparents!!

I bought this for my children but was so disappointed to find the book to be based on the Big Bang theory of creation, it has a small paragraph to say "not everyone believes the same thing, people have lots of different ideas, some about the science, some about how God was involved" We believe in creation and a young earth as explained in Genesis. In this book there is not a balanced view in my opinion. It goes on to explain evolution and the theory of billions of years.... I feel this belief view should have been advertised in the listing, if I had known I would not have purchased this book. A positive- the pictures are nice! Hence the 1 star. May I return it?
