    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

This quote from the Foreword especially caught my eye; ‘William Barclay sets his face against gloomy Christianity. “We are chosen for Joy” he insists. “However hard the Christian way is, it is, both in the travelling and in the goal, the way of joy....” The instances of Joy with their notes in this little book are all taken from Barclay’s New Daily Bible Study series, so if they inspire you to learn more, you will find help there. I would happily fill this whole review with other quotations from this book. Barclay finds joy in some surprising places. Joy has always been there but we sometimes need his teaching to bring it to our attention. In other instances such as the shepherd’s joy at finding his lost sheep in Jesus’ parable and the joy of realising Jesus is still with us despite his ascension to heaven, Joy is more obvious. This Insights series continues to be very special.
