Jesus was the first to properly "exegesis" the heavenly Father. Thus, after asking Judith (my wife) to help me with a title for this book, she came up with the idea of including the word "exegesis" in the title for this book. Exegesis by definition mean critical explanation or interpretation of a text, especially of Scriptures. However, "exegesis" is the Greek compound "ek," which means "out-of," that is something having its origin within that something; and "hegeomai," which means, to lead. Therefore, Jesus was the first to lead us to the Father "out-of" the Scripture. Thus, we are to be careful not to do the opposite of "eisegesis" the Scriptures. That is, we are to be careful not to read what we want "into" the Scriptures to make them say what we think it should say, rather than what is being revealed by the Lord "out-of" the Scriptures.I am reminded of an encounter our Lord Jesus had with a lawyer who had some questions about the Scriptures; and I remember the manner in which Jesus responded to the lawyer. Our Lord's response was very instructive. Jesus enlightened the lawyer (and us) by indicating that the Scriptures are only understood properly based on "how" they are read. Luke 10:25-26: 25And, be-perceiving, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 26He said towards him, what is written in the law? How are you reading? Thus, for many of the words used in the Scripture I wanted to follow the pattern set by our Lord Jesus who "declared" (exegesis) the Father; by applying the exegesis principle to the Word of God. That is, this publication contains a "reading-out" of some of the Greek compounds used in the original texts. For example, the Greek word translated "gospel" is the Greek compound "euaggelion" ("eu" (good, well) and "aggello" (to bring a message). Thus, an exegesis of this word is "good-message." In addition some words, like one of the Greek word for "healing," ("therapeuo") is transliterated as "therapy-served;" because this word expresses both being "served" and "therapy," or, a "servant" ("therapist") as used of Moses in Hebrews 3:5.
