I cannot recommend this book enough. For me as an older in age, but newer reader of the Bible it has illuminated so much that you could easily miss. And so easy to read as well.

Very useful addition to my library

This book by David Pawson truly unlocks the Bible in an interesting way

This book has been around for some time but I only recently came to know about it (recommended by a friend.) Some weeks away from completing a Bible-in-a-year reading plan, I started to use Unlocking the Bible in conjunction with this ... so from Obadiah through to the end of Revelation. The result is that I feel I’ve been waiting all my (long!) adult life for such an informative book. It really does unlock deeper understanding of the Bible and this very day, the 1st of 2022, I’m starting to use it in conjunction with this year’s reading plan and just know that, by the end of the year, I will be a lot more knowledgeable including about those aspects I’ve always found difficult to comprehend. I wish all Christians could be equipped with a copy.

This is an excellent resource for believers of all ages. It is especially useful for helping you get into the books of the Bible you struggle to understand, providing short but detailed explanations of the content, and how it applies to us today.

Most people buy this as concordance, I have read it as a book and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Unlocking The Bible By David Pawson Reviewed by Freya Pickard At last a commentary by someone who not only really knows the Bible, but also has a dynamic relationship with God. What I like about David Pawson?s style is that he doesn?t tell you what to believe. Instead, he gives you the background of each book in the Bible and points you in the right direction. From there you have to go and find out things for yourself. It took me over a year, on and off, to read right through this amazing book. In the process, Pawson challenged and destroyed many ill-conceived ideas ingrained in me from a traditional church upbringing. He also confirmed many conclusions I had reached by myself regarding the Bible and the Church which was confidence boosting. This book is not for the faint-hearted. If you?re not interested in what the Bible really says (not what the institutionalised Church tells you it says) then don?t bother reading it. But if you what to find out what Christianity is really about, then this is the book for you. Pawson?s language is simple and would be easy to understand for people with English as their second language. He claims that a 12 year old would be able to understand his sermons without any problem. This is probably the only other book, apart from the Bible, that a serious Christian needs.

This reissue of Unlocking the Bible opens up the word of God in a fresh and powerful way. Avoiding the small detail of verse by verse studies, it sets out the epic story of God and his people in Israel. The culture, historical background and people are introduced and the teaching applied to the modern world.
