Did you know there is a "Time Sandwich" in the book of Revelation?The book of Revelation is an interesting book which created various conflicting ideas and conclusions. Some, way out there, and others not so much. The views have been labeled and confined within those parameters. Some of these, The Idealist View, The Preterist View, The Historicist View, and The Futurist View; have been classified and categorized into oblivion and most books on the subject are pigeonholed in one or the other. None of these labels, however, are found in scripture. There is no reason for one to confine himself to any, nor all of these. It seems that men like labels. They are often used to make discussion and counter discussion easier, but they also limit ideas that don't fit perfectly into any.

Also, none that I have read, deal with the "time sandwich" which God has placed within the letter as accurately as possible. Everyone who holds to a somewhat historical contextual view fails to place the entire revelation letter within this time sandwich. Some don't even recognize the time sandwich. Some have the letter ending at the end of time, (To speak of "the 2nd coming of Christ" causes too much ambiguity.), others have much of it completed at the destruction of Jerusalem or Rome, yet have the last chapters extend to the end of time. Others who can't make a historical connection simply render the visions as principles for general use without a historical context. This book is an attempt to rectify this dilemma.

There are also none that really deal with those who "overcome" as seems to be defined in the book. They use the term merely as a matter of earthly faithfulness rather than the faithful conclusion of a life well lived in Jesus within the context of a historical reality. Therefore, it takes away, what I believe to be, one of the main and central themes of the book. This book is an attempt to rectify this dilemma as well.

Hope this book, the first of two, will aid in bringing a fresh and new, yet biblical, approach to one of the most interesting books in the Bible. Pray God blesses all who read it.
