Mark Time provides a new and different way for individuals and church groups to explore Mark's gospel. This edition includes the main book and 4 CD Audio set.

Mark’s Gospel has always been a good starting point either for people who are
searching for God, or for those who have become Christians and who want a good grounding in the gospel and teaching of Jesus.

It is the shortest and simplest of the three synoptic gospels that summarize the
birth, life, ministry, miracles, teaching, death, resurrection, and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Mark Time is a comprehensive resource to get you and your family and friends engaging with and learning from Mark’s Gospel!

Author, Gerard Chrispin, is a Bible teacher, evangelist, author, writer, occasional broadcaster and author of Day One’s The Bible Panorama.

He and his wife, Phillippa, have three adult children and six young granddaughters.

In reviewing this, I have three things to hand ? ?Mark Time ? The Book? (which also includes 4 audio CDs), ?Mark Time ? Discussion Course? and ?Mark Time ? Correspondence Course?. Taken together, this is an excellent walk through and commentary on the Gospel of Mark. With the addition of an optional correspondence course, readers are invited to complete summary question papers to gain a Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Achievement. From a personal point of view, readers will gain a great value from the book, small groups will gain from following the discussion course and those looking to go more in-depth will certainly find completion of the correspondence course purposeful. I took my time to engage with these materials and found them to be valuable and thoughtfully composed ? I think illustrating each section with a theme is useful and helps readers interact with what they are reading. The addition of the CDs is also an excellent foresight ? although once or twice, you will find that what is quoted in the book does not match what is read on the CD. My only real complaint is that I would have preferred that the KJV or NKJV bible translation were used throughout, because the use of four bible translations at various points seems inconsistent with the original purpose of having people read through their Gospel of St Mark alongside a study guide. I did hear a comment from a partner reader that its thoroughness could be its downfall ? dividing the Gospel into 52 parts might seem off putting and very few people will commit to 52 discussion sessions or completing 52 test papers. While I would not completely agree, as I have read books with a greater number of pages and chapters, a re-formatting to encompass the same content in a lesser number of sections might well have made it appear more accessible. Overall, an excellent and accessible Gospel Commentary resource with themes explained and ideas expanded and reinforced. Highly recommended. The Discussion Course guidance particularly is excellent for groups.
