At an early age, Daniel was taken from the city of Jerusalem to live the remainder of his days in Babylon. But while living in Babylon, Daniel continued to live for Jerusalem. In Babylon, he lived for the God of grace he had come to know in Jerusalem. Going face to face with Daniel requires Christians to go face to face with this piercing question: Are we willing to live for God while we live in a world that is opposed to God?

Roger Ellsworth is currently the pastor of Parkview Baptist Church, Jackson, Tennessee. He is the author of well over thirty books, including many titles published by Day One. He and his wife, Sylvia, have two sons and three grandchildren.

    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

Another great book from the Day One publications. As you read this book the similarities between Daniel, a Jew brought to Babylon as a captive young man and growing up surrounded by the Babylonian court and a Christian in today’s world as it becomes more secular, cannot be denied or ignored. The author genuinely starts you thinking. Today a lot of Christians do not stand firm as they are surrounded by today's ‘Babylonians’. The further study questions don't just look at the book of Daniel but other relevant scriptures. It made me think a lot about my spiritual discipline and question myself. Would I be able to stand firm in my faith and be so trusting in God if my faith would at best make me persecuted and at worse killed? We all have to live in this world but it doesn't mean we have to live and act like the rest of the world. Daniel's faith kept him strong and alive in Babylon from a young man to an old man. I highly recommend this book
