If you have ever read a book by Tom Wright, you know he is a great Biblical teacher. In this more advanced book we have the benefit of his lifetimes study into Romans. This is not a dry academic book, as Tom points out the missional and pastoral issues Chapter 8 includes and the important messages for the whole church. I also find it remarkable for the humility that Prof Wright exhibits when explaining how his interpretation of the chapter has been changed by the insights of his students and others. He demonstrates that the ‘renewing of the mind’ is something we should seek throughout our lives. I have benefitted enormously from this book and the care and detail it includes.
