The Christian faith is centred on the cross and that is also where the Christian life is rooted.

These 13 studies help us look at the significance of the cross – including: forgiveness, its revelation of God, the conquering of evil – and then what it means for the Christian community to live under its transforming power.

The cross gives us a new worshipping relationship to God, a new incentive to give ourselves in mission, a new love for our enemies and a new courage to face the perplexities of suffering.

My study leader in South America chooses these Life Builder books and the Zoom group friends are very dear to me BUT without exception they are far too reader centred with batty questions like "How does your personality compare with Moses?" We read the Bible to learn about God and how He reveals Himself not to play "where am I in this passage?" Almighty God and the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit..the triune God is the hero of the Scriptures. Not a fan of these books also as they fail to encourage valuable cross references which would help old and new Christians to understand the meaning of each passage and with the Lord's help seek to apply it. You take a look at the studies done by the Good Book Company and see what writers like Tim Chester, Mike Mc Kinley etc are producing and see how much better they are.
