This book provides an introduction to each of the women - including a perspective on wider Biblical themes or times (the 'Life and Times' surrounding the women). Well-known characters are included, but also a many about whom the Bible tells us very little for whom there may well not be other study guides available. This book does not set out to be a Bible commentary, explaining the details of the stories, but more to draw out some key points. The study questions encourage reflection about the actual stories of the women and also the lessons we can apply to life today. Some of these are probably more appropriate for individual responses rather than group discussion but there is a good mixture, so the group leader can be selective. While it is probably most useful for women's Bible study groups, it can easily be used by a mixed group.
