The Treasury of David, by C. H. Spurgeon (1834-1892), was first published in 1885 as a 7- Volume Exposition on the Book of Psalms. It took Spurgeon 20 years to complete and though he penned dozens of books, magazines, and commentaries during his lifetime, this Christian "classic" was his greatest literary feat, and considered by many to be his Magnum Opus. Upon his completion of this grand commentary, Spurgeon remarked, "Blessed have been the days spent in meditating, mourning, hoping, believing, and exulting with David! Can I hope to spend hours more joyous on this side of the golden gate?" Spurgeon is masterful, not just in his personal exposition, but in his extensive collection of relevant quotes from the Puritans and other eminent saints throughout the history of the Christian Church included with every verse of every Psalm.

This 10-Volume edition is enhanced in an easier-to-read format and is divided into relatively equal sized volumes that follow the natural biblical division of the Five Books of the Psalms—Volumes 1-3 contain Book One: Psalms 1-41; Volumes 4-5 contain Book Two: Psalms 42-72; Volume 6 contains Book Three: Psalms 73-89; Volume 7 contains Book Four: Psalms 90-106; and Volumes 8-10 contain Book Five: Psalms 107-150. The content is derived from the first edition and remains unaltered in the original King James Bible narrative.
