    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

Sarah Henrich is a pastor in the Lutheran church in America. This is the second volume of her study of the main themes of the Bible. In a wide-ranging survey she examines the great themes of the Old Testament and interprets them in the context of Jewish life at the time. She looks also at the New Testament and relates the same themes to the time of Jesus and indicates what they mean for us today. She deals in each chapter (thirteen in all) with a separate theme - Death, Hope, Love and Peace, among others. There is at the end of each chapter a reflection for the individual to consider and then questions and suggestions for group study. This makes it a valuable resource book for bible study groups and adult education classes. She writes with fluency and clarity and brings new life to familiar stories.
