While reading Time Travel To The Old Testament I attempted to put myself into the concept that Chris Sinkinson tries to put over: we are not just going to read about the Old Testament - but experience it. My eyes were opened to the culture in a new way (and I've had the privilege of having time to study God's Word over long periods of my life), where people groups and places came alive to me in a deeper way, perhaps even for the first time. I used Chris' easy writing style to imagine myself back in the OT times, moving through the land with ease and safety as I had such a knowledgable guide, keeping me safe from the dangers and difficulties that those times brought! My guide also was not a boring one full of useless facts, no, he showed me new things from modern archeology, revealing how accurate the OT writers really were and often enlightening God's purpose behind so called 'difficult' parts and times of the OT. I thoroughly recommend that you read this book, that you ask Chris to lead you back through OT times and that you throw yourself into the experience. If you are like me it, your journey with him might lead you to go and look even more into some aspects of those times and if you have a sense of humour like mine he will even give you a giggle as you turn the pages of history with him. Christian or not, but perhaps especially if you are, this book will help you understand the OT times, it will help you understand why God revealed Himself the way He did in those times, and more importantly, it will show you how and why all of the OT points to one person.
