Miracles, signs and wonders happen today! Countless people the world over testify to God’s miraculous power and intervention in their lives. While personal testimony is inspiring to many, for others, it’s simply not sufficient. Cessationsim says that the supernatural gifts of the Spirit ceased when the New Testament was complete; This is a common belief held by many clergy and laity alike. This book challenges that misconception and seeks to scripturally demonstrate that these supernatural gifts have not and will not cease until Christ returns.

    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

A very special, quite slim book that is packed with Biblical wisdom. Are the spiritual gifts that Paul talks about in Corinthians available to Christians today? Here is a robust ‘Yes’ in answer to that question! Mark Anderson’s background is Pentecostal, but here he writes for all of us. He writes ‘as a lover of scripture, I owe it to good hermeneutical practice to present as accurately as possible, a scriptural understanding of the ministry of the Holy Spirit,’ and so he does. There are nine manifestations of the Spirit outlined in 1Corinthians 12 verses 1-11 and continually quoting scripture, the author explains why he believes that all nine are available to us today, and that what they meant for Paul and the Corinthians is what they must mean to us. He explains that Cessationists ‘don’t recognise that the Holy Spirit can still manifest himself through believers in the manner Paul cites...’ This is the clearest, easiest to read book on this subject that I have come across and heartily recommend it.
