She may have said 'a little prayer to Jesus, ' but Livi Starling really isn't sure she's cut out for the Christian life. For a start, she can't stop lying. For another, she's bitterly angry with her father and horrified when Ruby suggests she ought to forgive him. Then there's the turmoil of trying to impress a certain boy at youth group, not to mention the ongoing war with Kitty Warrington's gang which leads to HUGE trouble at school.

To make matters worse, her sister Jill is as depressed as ever-- what will she say when she finds out Livi's joined the 'Crazy God Squad'?

I love the way these books reflect some of the frustrations/hard things of life and give insight whilst also giving hope. Sometimes Christian fiction and films can be very twee and ‘perfect’ in an unrealistic way. I didn’t feel this series does that and I didn’t feel preached at either - refreshing. Instead I found them thought provoking. Without giving the story away, I found the part where Belinda (an in your face Christian who appears to have relatively no social awareness) gets something very right - it inspired me to consider how I see and judge people and how powerful consistent, sincere love really is, especially if it’s not necessarily expressed in the most palatable of ways. I found the book an easy read that I really looked forward.
