You have been gifted with talents and opportunities by your Creator. You have been specifically placed where you are for such a time as this. There is work to be done, but the laborers are few. It is estimated that the average individual spends 1,800 hours per year at work. If we are honest with ourselves, are we actually using those 1,800 hours to glorify the Lord? Sadly, the world has defined excellence, success, influence, and work in an extremely self-serving way. However, when we turn to God's Word, we see that success looks much more like consistent faithfulness no matter the task. In a "me-first" world, we must develop a "Gospel-first" mentality. We must return to the Garden of Eden, where work was created as something perfect before the fall. We must return to The Great Commission. We must take back the Biblical definition of excellence and influence. The Great Commission applies directly to your place of employment. Some of the darkest corners of the earth are in boardrooms, cubicles, offices, and breakrooms in organizations around the world. The Lord wants to use you where you are and on the stage He has currently placed you.
