Delirious is the story of the most successful British Christian band of all time, told by the front man that held the microphone and lead them to Grammy-nominated, Dove Award winning success.

Martin Smith reflects on his life with a band that helped usher the modern worship movement into existence over a period of 17 years of highs and lows.

This energetic worshipper looks at what it means to be a Worship Leader alongside being a parent bringing up a family and living a life of compassion in an age of consumerism.

Delirious isn't just a story about the past, it's a challenge to every 'History Maker' to live out the life, not just sing the songs and read the books, a call to really make a difference.

This is a personal, honest and at times surprising story from Smith, a man who's desire is to spur people into action, to really live a life that really makes 'Mountain's Tremble' and brings help to the broken.

    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

I have to admit that I'm never sure about books about 'bands' written by band members, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one because actually in many ways it isn't really about the band 'Delirious' and Martin Smith and Craig Borlase are upfront about it, it's actually about Martin Smith and from there his take on Delirious and how he got there and in some ways why he got out. It's actually a really easy and interesting read, listening to Martin talk about his own faith - and it really does feel more as if you are listening to him talk, it's very much in a journalistic style, you can almost here Craig's questions though you never see them on the page! Martin talks about being a worship leader, about the changing music industry, about compassion and how easy it is to loose sight of it, about how we all change over time and how sometimes that change really is for the better - just ask his wife Anna as we hear right at the beginning of the book! And through it we see the journey of Delirious in a whistle stop tour as Martin understood it, or more importantly perhaps understands it now in hindsight. It is an important book for any Delirious fan obviously, but it's also an important book for those interested in being worship leaders or Christian artists/songwriters because it poses some interesting and important questions from someone that's been there and understands now that it isn't always what it seems. I'm really glad I got asked to read this, it's not a book I would have chosen to read for myself and I really would have missed something special and insightful if I hadn't read it.
