Paul Vol 2 – Encountering the Servant of Christ: Face to Face ISBN – 978-1-846-25295-2 The first volume covers Acts chapters 9 to 18 starting with Paul (previously Saul) becoming a believer. I read the books by reading the chapter of Acts I was going to cover in the chapter of the book and this made it fresh in my mind. No matter what Paul was confronted with it was amazing how he never doubted God or the plan that God had for him. He was a living testimony to God's grace. The text is broken down into small pieces saying how we should not back down on spreading the ‘good news’ no matter what hurdles are put in our way. A brilliant book which gives an insight into what Paul had to contend with. The second volume deals with Paul and his ministry to Ephesus and how he was eventually arrested. Again he kept answering all accusations with arguments that people could not find retorts with which to answer him back. Paul also knows that God wants him to get to Rome and via a shipwreck, snakebite and opposition he arrives and there he dies. (End of Acts) You are left with the impression that he was an amazing man, a brilliant servant of Jesus Christ. As before in this series of publications each chapter finished with further study and things to think about and discuss, and again I found this helpful. With these books you actually feel revitalised knowing if Paul could go through so much we shouldn't moan about the few hurdles which are sometimes put in front of us.
