This little collection of stories is written by a lot of authors who worked for WEC (World Wide Evangelism for Christ) at some point in time. Now, for those who don't know, WEC's tagline is that it 'plants churches were there is no church'. I found the stories uplifting and inspiring in different ways. I loved the story about the missionary who confronted a past full of rejection and resentment so that she could enjoy a future full of acceptance and joy. The editor has his own story to tell - Glenn Myers almost died, and had to ask Jesus for physical and emotional healing. Jenny Davies waited a long time for her prayer to be answered; one took 48 years to be fulfilled! Another couple didn't know whether to move from Gambia to South Korea, and got a direct answer from God after a prayer meeting. One doctor had to learn all about real faith in God as she became seriously ill. There is a sweet story about a couple who got together after the tragic death of a loved one. I loved some of the themes in this short collection of stories, such as triumph over adversity, weaknesses turned into strengths, and sorrow into joy. It is also a useful handbook for those who want others to experience God's love through missionary work.
