This is a really well researched and written book about a true man of God who had a massive influence on the Southern Baptist Convention (and others) during the 60's and 70's (and beyond). It tells, with relevant anecdotes and historical facts, of how this man, filled with God's Holy Spirit was able to do immeasurably more that a normal man could ever ask or imagine. It is truly inspirational and can encourage a Bible believing Christian to expect much more from their ministries - if they will only God to work through them - rather than trying to do things in God's own strength. I have witnessed the change this has brought about in Pastor Phil's life, as he himself has embraced the belief that to work in one's own strength as a Christian is selling God short. As you would expect from Dr Kramer this book was extremely well researched and written in a way that is very compelling - making you want to read more - as well as leaving you with the desire to research deeper into Adrian Rogers and listen to some of his messages which are freely available on the 'Love Worth Finding' website. I found this book to be truly inspirational - for those outside the US, the background given on the US Space Programme in the 60's and 70's which was the backdrop for Adrian Roger's Merritt Island ministry, is also extremely interesting and helps to put everything in perspective. I urge you to read this book, if you want to be encouraged in your ministry - wherever you may be operating. Well done to Pastor Phil for this excellent book (not his first) - I hope we can look forward to him writing more!

Whilst writing this biography of Adrian Rogers, the author, Pastor Phil Kramer, came to realise himself that he had been largely operating in his own strength )although the influence and leading of the Holy Spirit was clearly evident in his walk with The Lord). As a result, Phil desired more of the Holy Spirit and is now walking in The Spirit's strength and fully acknowledging the difference this makes in his ministry at Crossgate Church, Hot Springs Arkansas. If you want to be inspired that you can grow me as you draw on the Holy Spirit's power, if you want to be encouraged that you can achieve great things for the Kingdom, if you want to believe that no-one is beyond God's saving power when unveiled through God's book, The Bible,, then you need to read this book. Thoroughly recommended for any one in any kind of Christian ministry, this book is, as you would expect from Dr Kramer, thoroughly researched, with lots of background about the space programme in the 1960's on Merritt Island, Florida, where Adrian Rogers was based at the time. A truly fascinating and compelling read. Highly recommended for all Christians who want to understand more about what they could achieve by way of a Spirit-filled life, backed up by a firm belief in the unchanging Word of God.
