Prophet of the People tells the story of a Capuchin priest, Padre Pio. From 1918 until his death in 1968, Padre Pio bore the stigmata, the wounds of Christ in his flesh. Miracles attributed to him have given rise to the hope that, following his beatification in May 1999, he will soon be canonized a saint.
