Have you read Hidden Sorrow, Lasting Joy Anneke Companjen’s first book? This is similar as it tells the stories of women persecuted for their Christian faith in many countries around the world. Some have been left in very difficult circumstances when their husbands have been taken away on trumped up charges, or even killed; others have been subjected to persecution by their own families for becoming followers of Christ. All have endured more than we can imagine from our comfortable western homes. Their stories are told with warmth and understanding and Anneke has added her own thoughts at the end of many of the chapters. At the end of each section are suggested Bible readings for further study and contemplation. A humbling and inspiring book.
