This is an amazingly full biography of this evangelist known world wide for his writings and preaching: it would be hard to decide which has reached the most people. From humble beginnings and education till sixteen, at that time he had no ambition for more, John Blanchard became a Bible scholar and charismatic speaker. Having spent the war years as an evacuee on Islay in the Inner Hebrides, he returned to Guernsey and became a church goer but it was not till later when he was taken to an evangelistic campaign, by Joyce who was to become his wife that he had a life changing experience. He went reluctantly and left a new-born Christian fully committed to follow wherever the Lord led. With the excellent photos, maps and directions that we have come to expect in this series, his story is told in fascinating detail. I for one will read more of his books.
