When was the last time you heard some really incredible news that you couldn't wait to share? The Gospel of Mark is that kind of good news! It's a life-changing announcement about who Jesus is, and what he's done.

Best News Ever is a devotional that takes tweens aged 9-12 on a 100-day journey through Mark's fast-paced, action-packed story—helping them to understand the confusing bits, showing them how it connects with their life, and bringing them face to face with Jesus: the one who changes everything.

Each day's devotional includes:
• A passage to read — work through the whole of Mark's Gospel in bitesize chunks
• A short explanation — guiding you though the confusing bits and showing what it means for you
• A question to reflect on — so that you can slow down and think through what you've read
• A prayer to pray — to help you respond to what God has said

Written in a pithy and engaging style, Best News Ever will help young people of all backgrounds to read the Bible for themselves, whether they know a little or a lot about Jesus already. It is also ideal to use as a family devotional.

Using this with my 11 year old son. It is well written for his age range and we are enjoying reading it together. Would recommend.

I have just worked through this whole book at bedtime with my sons, and we have loved it. One of them was particularly disappointed that we'd reached the end. (We've decided he need to write one about Acts next!) It splits the book of Mark into 100 studies, which means a small chunk each time, and the commentary written about each section was really helpful. It was written in a very accessible way, with a couple of questions for discussion at the end of each day. There were insights that had never occurred to me, and every time we read the Bible passage and said "I don't really understand that" the writer tackled the issue head on and explained it clearly. It also had a nice development from insights into Jesus' character, to looking at God's plan, to discussing what our response to that might be. We read a whole gospel together without ever feeling like it was an effort, or our attention was wavering. I'd highly recommend it to anyone with kids 8+.
