Why would a crippled old man slide down a hillside and wait by the side of the road every day for twenty years? Why would a slave and a witch doctor walk for three days to find a man called Jesus? Why would a lame man purposely walk to a tribe where he knew he would be killed?

Sixteen captivating episodes from the ministry of one missionary show the power of God in the midst of darkness.

The people of the Omo River Valley of Ethiopia saw the great light of the gospel through the ministry of one man, Dick McLellan. Find out about the Invisible Evangelist, the Two Girls who Prayed and other astonishing stories.

This is a book that will make you gasp at God! Taken from the life and ministry of Dick McLellan these are stories of Christians who have eagerly taken hold of God's message with two hands. With joy in their souls they declare "With this hand I renounce the devil and all his works! With this hand I surrender to Jesus Christ! All I am and all I have!".

Dick himself is a bit of a hidden hero - but he is not the only one - there are hundreds of new preachers and evangelists spreading the word through Ethiopia and the continent of Africa. Their stories need to be told.

An inspiring collection of stories about faithful believers in the harsh surroundings of rural Ethiopia where witch doctors hold a powerful and evil hold over the villagers. It is hard for us to understand how strong this fear is in the villagers and therefore how strong a resolve it takes to break from their control and follow Jesus. When it is the witch doctors themselves who turn to Christ it is even more amazing in our sight, but in God’s scheme of things it can happen! Each of these mini biographies tell of a simple overwhelming faith that we can learn from and attempt to emulate. Who of us would sit by the roadside for many years awaiting the ‘Good news’ that we had been promised in a dream? The Australian evangelist Dick McLellan who took the gospel to many of these people and his faithful service to these people – even when he had to leave the country during the communist years – is the inspiration behind this book.
