    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

A pleasure and a pain to read, entering into the struggles of the West Bank, rejoicing in the ‘books’ poetry (on the Book of Kells, for example) of the true lover of words, hearing the heartbeat of an island shore – and the larger life of a city. Pictures as fleeting as the tide ebb and flow through this powerful book, reminding any reader that here on earth we have no continuing city: we are all sojourners. For those of us with a love of island shores, the interface between land and sea, her poems conjure pictures of our own times and tides connected with islands; for me, Sanday in Orkney, where there is little land but much sea and sky. God’s thin places.
