Drawing Closer (Part 2): A Deeper Look at the Attributes of God

A correct understanding of God is of critical importance to those who desire to become more like Him and to glorify and worship Him as He deserves. Throughout scripture, we are called to pursue greater knowledge of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. As we grow in our understanding of all that He is, our walk with Him becomes more intimate, our trust in Him, regardless of circumstances, grows stronger, and our worship and desire to give Him glory on a daily basis is magnified. This is what God Himself said in Jeremiah 9:23-24:

“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth, for in these I delight.” (Jeremiah 9:23-24)

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Mr. Rodgers is a long-time Christian whose life experiences included many struggles, but who was powerfully impacted by a personal journey to know and understand God in a deeper way. The result was a process of healing that brought about a more intimate relationship with the Lord and a new love for His Word. He is a husband, father, grandfather, and recent great-grandfather. He currently lives with his wife, Verna, in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
