This book demonstrates a very good use of Clare’s ‘Gaze, Consider, Contemplate and Desire to Imitate Christ’. It would be wonderful to think of the whole congregation preparing in this way, perhaps leading to interchanges rather than just sermons! It is a good introduction to those who are somewhat suspicious of using the imagination with regard to the reading of Scripture and also useful for those who find it difficult to create pictures in their heads. A lovely gift for those who are housebound as it gives a chance to think about the same topics which may be being discussed in the local church and nationally, wherever the Lectionary is used.
