The authors discuss hesitation, confusion, dreams, and outcomes that propel you to grow beyond where you are and develop a positive expectation. At certain points in reading the devotional, I was convicted and knew God was bringing me to a new level of commitment. At other times, certain phrases brought tears to my eyes, as I knew God had brought me to read this book just at this moment in my life when I needed to hear the authors' message. When I read the devotional on confusion and particularly, the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5, the author states "there is no amount of confusion I could ever encounter that has the power to overthrow His ability to see me". Wow Jesus feels the faith of all of those who dare to place their ongoing hope in Him. This book helps the reader establish a firm grip on hope, even in the midst of trials. We can maintain a positive expectation in the midst of anxiety and fear. We can press through and trust in Him even when we feel stripped of all the resources we think we need to fight the battle. The questions posed at the end of each chapter are thought-provoking and lead you to deep contemplation. The prayers direct you to a new level of surrender.
