It is a compilation of questions and answers gathered together from his previous books, and from emails, letters and phone calls the author has received. The format taken is of a number of chapters grouping related questions together – Hope, Hurt, Help, Hereafter etc with each question being numbered and taking a page or just a little more. Each answer generally relates back to scripture and is loving to the enquirer, suggesting a way forward or comfort or clarifying scripture. Some of the issues tackled – abuse, abortion, death of a child – are difficult to answer in a short page and therefore to me came across as trite and condescending, but many questions are answered in a short, straightforward way. It’s a dip and see book, probably more useful for people who are asked a lot of questions and don’t know how to answer. It provides a starting point for these difficult questions and could be used as a launching pad for one to one conversations or group discussions.
