Antimony 'the tall dwarf' finds the broken shards of a magic mirror. Within the shards he glimpses the ruins of a palace and sees a vision of it restored. He gathers the shards up and lovingly restores the mirror. Returning to admire the mirror, he finds a stranger who shows Antimony a fuller version of his vision in the mirror. Excited, Antimony rushes to show others and he explains to the dwarf high council that he believes they must restore the palace.
Unfortunately, the builders are noticed by the local ruler, 'the Usurper'.
He resents the idea of the king returning so sends his troops in the night to destroy much of the building work. The builders are demoralised and Antimony runs away from his quest. Heading back to the mirror, he once again meets the mysterious stranger, who helps him understand his true identity and gives him hope and self-esteem.
An inspiring story that will thrill and entertain.
Luke lives in Bristol but spends much of his time in the weird and wonderful corners of his imagination. He studies and writes at Trinity College Bristol and from his DIY camper van, usually with a cup of tea on hand. Despite failing every spelling test he’s ever taken, he loves building magical worlds with words and telling stories that excite, delight or change people. Before publishing his books, Luke’s background was in creative direction, media and primary schools resources. He is a multi-award-winning film-maker, has a background in performing arts, and is currently undertaking an MA in theology as training for pioneer ministry in the Church of England alongside writing his books.
In 2018 Luke released his debut novel, The Mirror and the Mountain, which introduced readers to the magical kingdom of Presadia and it’s many troubles through the eyes of two children, Summer and Jonah, who accidentally stumble through from our own world. The Forgotten Palace continues the series (March 22nd 2019) as readers journey with Antimony, the ‘tall-dwarf’ on an unexpected quest filled with danger and mystery.
