    This title follows on from Beech Bank Girls - Every Girl Has a Story and as in the first book, each of the friends tells their own story one after the other, except Holly who is on an extended visit to Australia. Different issues continue to arise in the girl’s lives. A main theme in this book is the arrival of Roma children into their school. These Eastern European families have come to the UK for seasonal work and the children attend school while they are here. The girls have to work through their own and other’s prejudices and they make friends with a girl in their class Madalina. In doing so they learn how other people live, how not everyone has the comfortable lifestyle they have been brought up to expect despite any problems within their families. The friends tell their stories individually, including Madalina, and their concerns are those of any girls of their age, parents, clothes, boys, and their anchor throughout is the Beech Bank after school club run by the young local vicar and his wife. Intended for young teens, but I thoroughly enjoyed it!
