Lucien's teasing of Dani leads to an accident with far-reaching consequences. Annette is intent on revenge and does all she can to make life a misery for Lucien. His only friend is the old man up the mountain who recognises his skill in carving wood and gives him new hope.

Set in Switzerland this story of Annett, Lucien and Dani has caught the imagination of countless children.

Patricia St John's classic story of love and forgiveness is as fresh now as when it was first published in 1950.

An entertaining and challenging read for key stage two children.

I really enjoyed Treasures in the snow by Patricia St John, because all the different characters were very nice and fun. The story was about a bad accident to Dani, that caused a friendship to happen and they learnt about God and Jesus. I read this book to my Nana over zoom in lockdown, we both had lots of laughs but also there were cliffhangers after every chapter making us want to read more. I recommend this book because there are lots of different emotions in it.

Yet another reprint of a very special favourite, one of five stories now available. I was delighted to have the opportunity to re-read this story. Although over fifty years old, there is nothing stale about this tale. Annette and her little brother Dani live in the Swiss Alps and their neighbour Lucien is the cause of a serious accident to little Dani. Dani is a happy child despite being crippled but Annette is full of hatred towards Lucien, and Lucien is riddled with guilt; as the story unfolds all three children find healing.
