Raphael (Raffie to her friends) is a young angel just beginning to earn her wings. But she is enthusiastic and ambitious and very keen to get involved with things on Earth. Given an unexpected opportunity, she manages to wreak havoc with the weather. Even more unexpectedly given a second chance, she discovers something very unpleasant on a Welsh mountainside. And soon, her life of cheerful interference and well-meaning duty is turned upside down as she is swept up in a cosmic struggle which the power of evil looks to be winning. In a story that is alternately humorous and gripping, Raffie's life spins out of control while those who could prevent it seem willing to allow it to happen.

    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

The story follows the experiences of Raffie, a naive, unsophisticated but enthusiastic angel in training. She does unconventional things which expose her to dangers and discipline for which she is unprepared. Fascination with Earth reveals the power and limitations of her lowly rank as she makes mistakes with weather, geography, imps and demons and going off alone. The intensity of the spiritual battle surprises her, as does the consequences of her misdemeanours engaging the angel hierarchy in a heavenly Council. It should prove good reading for 9-12's and leave them looking for volume 2.
