Born in 1212, Zita, a young peasant girl began working for a rich family in a village in Italy. From the age of twelve, she devoted her life to her work, performing any duty asked of her, stating that it was God's will.
She received insults, both verbally and physically from her masters, but managed to never let them affect her. She grew up at the house and eventually took over the duties of being the housekeeper, even influencing the actions of her superiors.
Zita also took tremendous care of the poor in the nearby village and devoted her life to caring for others in any way that she could.
