    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

This is book three in the Alaskan Skies Series which follows the life of Kate Evans a female bush pilot. Based in Alaska in the 1930s, the last in the series Joy Takes Flight culminates with Kate marrying Paul a bush doctor. Kate finds herself struggling between being a strong and independent woman and being the wife of a loving man with a hidden secret that wants to keep Kate grounded. I think I would have enjoyed this book more had I read the first two in the series which would maybe have embedded Kate's 1930s character in my mind's eye. I love nature and have been to Alaska and so I could take pleasure in this great wilderness setting. For me it took me a while to really get into the book and I felt a little frustrated with Kate, but maybe that was because I could recognise her flaws in me and I just wanted her to stop trying to achieve perfection. Overall I liked it.
