      GoodBookstall Review

Each Texas dream novel is a stand-alone story, but it enhances the enjoyment if you have read the others as some characters reappear in each. This story is about the erstwhile Texas Ranger Lawrence Wood, now Sheriff and Mayor of Ladreville and newcomers to the town, Harriet Kirk and her younger siblings. As you can imagine immediately, these two are destined to fall in love, but there is a rocky path to tread before the happy ending. Harriet has been appointed as the new teacher, but straight away she is dismayed with the half timbered school and the house allotted to her and her brother and sisters. We learn how and why she became such an independent spirit, and why this makes it difficult to accept help from others. She also has to learn that the two eldest siblings are becoming persons in their own right, and will not rely on her for ever, nor will they behave as she expects. There are plenty of twists and turns in this story to keep you reading, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
