Tale of Heartbreak & Hope
‘His Love Endures Forever’ is the dramatic tale of a young mother who has little control over her fate, and no confidence that God is in control.
This story is one in which two worlds collide: the contrasting cultures of the Amish and ‘Englischer’ meet in a tale of heartbreak and hope. The third part in the ‘Land of Canaan’ series from Beth Wiseman, this story will open your eyes to the reality and struggles that young mothers have to face, and the difference made when those involved surrender to the perfect power and will of God.

‘It was truly a very heart-warming story; something we all desperately need in this dark world. You will love to read this story about an Amish boy who leaves his Amish life and family and does what is right! You are really going to love the ending!’ - M. Field
‘Beth tackles difficult subjects with such understanding and grace. The healing aspect is apparent in all of her novels, but this one, in particular shows how you only receive that healing grace through being vulnerable and honest before God. She shows that redemption is possible when life becomes hopeless.’ - Karla Hanns
‘I love to read Amish fiction and don't mind when the story lines seem to be similar in most of the books I read. This book however is a step above the others because it approaches the Amish lifestyle in a new way. I would definitely recommend it as an enjoyable, quick and easy read!’ - Mrs Huddy
‘I haven't read any Amish fiction for a long time, but had to try this one out, since I have read some of Beth Wiseman's other novels and loved them. I'm glad I picked this one up! Her characters are real and make mistakes, but she uses those stories to tell of the Saviour's love for everyone. I think we all need to be reminded of that love and how God is in control and that His love really does endure forever.’ - Manda Jane
‘I really loved reading this book and felt like it always kept me wanting to find out what was going to happen next. I was rooting for the couple the whole way through and enjoyed watching them make their lives work together. The best thing about this book was how easy it was to read and fall in love with all the characters. I thought it was great representation of forgiveness and God's love. Many times many people are hurt and this book shows what we must do to rely on God to help with the hurt and give us hope.’ - Amanda B.
‘It was an emotional travel reading this novel but worth every tear shed. I recommend this novel for anyone looking for an inspiring tale.’ Mrs CA Barriga
‘I loved this book and highly recommend it to ANYONE who enjoys Amish fiction or just a good, clean, contemporary romance in general.’ - Renee Chaw
‘I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good love story and especially when it is about the Amish and involves not only love and friendship but sacrifice.’ - Deanna L. Gottreu
‘READ THIS BOOK! You will not be disappointed at all. Beth Wiseman really outdid herself with this one!’ - Kristin
In this special article I'll summarise the plots of the first two books in the ‘Land of Canaan’ series. The books stand alone as stories, so you can read them in any order, however, some of the characters appear in more than one novel. It’s interesting to note the minor appearances of some characters in one part, before focusing on them as central protagonists in another.
1. Seek Me With All Your Heart
This story follows the story of the young Amish duo Emily and David. Emily’s family are moving from Ohio to Canaan, Colorado, after a horrific experience there convinced Emily that she could not marry. David is in a similar situation, he rejects the idea that he could ever get married because of a severe kidney condition - he doesn’t want to have a wife and children who could at any time be abandoned in the event of his death. However, both Emily and David begin to have their perceptions challenged as they try to find a way around their anxieties in order that they may get together... read this novel to discover whether tragedy will continue to mar this young pair’s lives, or whether this is a new beginning.
2. The Wonder of Your Love
Katie Ann’s husband has left her for an English woman, leaving her to raise her child, Jonas, alone. At forty she doesn’t expect that she will be able to marry again, and she faces the prospects of raising her child as a single mother. Eli Detweiler could be her chance to escape this bleak and lonely future - a widower who has raised six children of his own, they have now flown the nest and he has come to Canaan to take a sabbatical. Can the friendship of Katie and Eli quickly develop and blossom into years of happy marriage?
These two books are great reads - it’s worth checking out the 'buy together' options Eden offer, because you are sure to enjoy Beth Wiseman’s works; wanting to read all her intricately crafted stories.
An unplanned pregnancy. An absent father. Does love really endure all things?
Danielle Kent is 18, pregnant, and hopeful that the child's father – Matthew Lapp – will want to marry her and provide the life she's always dreamed of. Even though Matthew is Old Order Amish, Danielle knows that Matthew wants to leave his community for a life outside of the district. But then Matthew tells Danielle that he doesn't love her – that a wife and baby don't fit into his plans.
Levi Detweiler has enjoyed an unlikely friendship with Danielle for nearly a year, though they have little in common. He's Amish, and she won't even discuss God. When Danielle becomes pregnant with Matthew's child, Levi is sure that Matthew will do the right thing and marry Danielle. When that doesn't happen, God calls on Levi to marry Danielle. It doesn't make sense, and it means that Levi will have to leave his home in the Old Order community to make a life for himself, Danielle, and the baby. Levi seeks God's will in a situation that seems impossible – knowing that only by faith are all things possible.
