I bought this book as I like to read what I call 'girly trash' but sometimes it can be a little rude! I wanted something that I could read that was a little deeper than some of the non-Christain stuff but something that I could relax with. It was well worth the read and would read it again and give it to someone else for them to read. While reading I couldn't put it down and was really engaged with all the Characters. I laughed and cried througout it and it was a shame to put it down when I had finished reading it. I hope that there will be some more books from these authors!

If this had been a Bethany House story it would have been published as a trilogy and the story spun out in more detail. As it was, I soon got used to the pace of the storytelling and was carried along to the end. Too long to read in one sitting, so, very hard to know where and when to stop, and in my case, sleep! The story loosely follows the story of Ruth in the Bible. Rosie, a New Yorker, marries an Englishman from a well off family, but tragedy strikes and the three men of the family die. Rosie’s sister in-law returns to her homeland but Rosie sticks with her mother-in-law through thick and thin, and believe me, it gets thin, before moving on to the happy ending as in the Bible story.

I loved this book from the very first page. Couldn't put it down. The text is very engaging and I had to keep reading because I was desperate to know what was happening to Rosie. Well written with well-drawn characters and moving easily through humour, pathos and tension, I wanted to read it all over again immediately when I reached the last sentence. Classed as chick lit but more solid, more substantial in content than that.Great book!:)
