‘The Dance’ is an enchanting love story about the rebuilding of a loveless marriage by bestselling authors Dan Walsh & Gary Smalley.

Marilyn & Jim Anderson have been married for 27 years. They have everything: a successful career, the luxury to be a stay-at-home mum, a beautiful home, wonderful children and every possession to make their lives comfortable and easy. Yet they lack the one fundamental human desire that matters most – love.

Marilyn has reached the end of her patience. She has been playing the ‘perfect wife’ role at the expense of her happiness for too long. So she decides to take a leap into something she has always wanted to do, dancing. Leaving her husband was a difficult decision, but starting a new job and meeting new people at her dance classes have given her new life and joy.

Jim is shocked. He always assumed his marriage was solid, until his beloved wife left him. Now he must take the initiative to rebuild what he unknowingly destroyed. With help for an unexpected alley, he begins his battle to win back Marilyn and rediscovers himself in the process.

Love’s recovery starts with a single step...

After 27 years of marriage, Marilyn Anderson is tired of playing the role of perfect wife. Her husband Jim is a successful businessman who gives her everything she needs-a beautiful home in an upscale neighborhood, the financial freedom to be a stay-at-home mom, an enviable collection of stuff. Everything, that is, except what really matters: love.

After years of trying to connect with Jim, Marilyn has had enough. She longs to experience some measure of happiness before she’s too old to enjoy it. Needing some time to herself to sort things out, Marilyn leaves to start a new job and take dancing lessons-something she has wanted to do for as long as she can remember.

Shocked to find his wife gone, Jim Anderson must sort through the past to save his marriage. With a little help from an unexpected ally, he begins a campaign to win Marilyn back. What he doesn’t anticipate is how his actions will affect everyone around him-starting with himself.

Readers will find a unique blend of Walsh?s signature storytelling (The Reunion) and Smalley?s marriage advice (The DNA of Relationships) in this first of the four-book Restoration Series. Marilyn Anderson, after 27 years of marriage, leaves her husband. ?I?ve dropped hint after hint, clue after clue,? she says in her note. Jim, a successful businessman, is clueless, but, once over his anger, he begins soul-searching with help from his children and retired dance instructor Audrey Windsor. Marilyn, meanwhile, finds a job and a roommate and begins dance lessons. Throw in a well-meaning uncle, their daughter Michele?s wedding, their sons? questions, a demanding church deacon, a dashing dance instructor, and a hurricane, and readers will definitely come away satisfied and shedding tears at the end. Mixing fiction?s emotion and nonfiction?s teaching works splendidly here.
