If like me you are a bit of a softie under the tough exterior then can I just say you might want a box of hankies with this, but you’ll probably still want to read this book of short miracle stories about real American police, medics, firemen etc. Everyday heroes that just get that nudge of divine guidance or heavenly help at the right time to save lives and make differences – even their own lives when they do foolish things, and the wonderful thing is that sometimes that help isn’t so heavenly either, it’s just as human as they are and from the most unexpected of sources – thus showing that only God truly knows a persons heart and anyone can be his messenger regardless of circumstance or human judgements. The writing has an easy style about it that made me think of the TV docudrama programmes and there’s a real mix of stories, but even the sad ones speak somehow of God’s grace in action. If you like true stories and miracle tales then this one is for you.
