I have a hunch that a book on women's place in the church and in society at large when just a little over a year ago, women in Britain celebrated a hundred years of winning the right to vote, will create raised eyebrows. It is interesting to note that the world is still trying to find answers to the question of why we still have disparity between the pay of men and women, and people still question the ability of women in leadership roles. I try to establish in this book that even today, there are many traditions across the world that want to look down on women and to portray them as second-class humans.
