A revised edition of A Woman’s High Calling now with a comprehensive study guide included at the end of the book along with a section for personal notes as well, making this a book intended to be really used and studied by the women who read it. Based as it is around Titus Chapter 2, in which it is exhorted that older women should be taught how to live and in turn should train the younger women in behaviour, this book goes through the ten Godly principles as suggested in Titus that a woman should adhere to in order to live a Godly life and in turn be a good mentor. The subjects therefore discussed in the book are Godliness, Godly speech, personal discipline, encouraging others, loving your husband, loving your family, wisdom, purity, homemaking and goodness. There is a nuance to this book that, although only originally written in 2001, makes it seem much older. There is almost an old fashioned charm written into the words and as such, and perhaps as can be told from the chapter subjects, this is a book with a certain bias. It is very much a traditional take on a woman’s high calling and while not demeaning this, it must be said this particular view is perhaps not one for all women these days.
